Toronto app maps 10,900 public bathrooms across Ontario and turns gut health into a game

TORONTO, October 2026. Stool Scout, a free app made in Toronto, has mapped more than 10,900 public washrooms across Ontario, from Toronto parks and Ottawa libraries to highway rest stops and northern campgrounds. Anyone can browse them by city at stoolscout.com/washrooms or open the live map to find the nearest one that's open, free and accessible.

The map is half of an unusual idea: make gut health something people actually check. Users snap a photo from above and the app's AI grades it on the Bristol Stool Scale, the seven-type chart doctors use. The photo is thrown away straight after grading and never stored. Healthy results score the most points, which feed streaks, weekly leagues and private boards for offices and friend groups.

Stool Scout is free on the web at stoolscout.com, with the iPhone app in beta at stoolscout.com/beta. It offers general wellness information, not a diagnosis.
